Civics Education Kit

The Blue Mountains Civics Education Kit is based on material supplied by Blue Mountains City Council and the Local Government and Shires Association of NSW.

The Blue Mountains Civics Education Kit is designed to provide information of interest to students and teachers about local government and in particular, Blue Mountains City Council. This material is relevant to units of work prescribed in the Department of Education syllabus, particularly HSIE units on Democracy and Civics and Citizenship and is most suitable for primary school and junior high school.

The Civics Education Kit may be downloaded at right.

Community Plan

Provides a demographic and socioeconomic overview with useful information about the population and community of the Blue Mountains. It also contains information on sustainable living and how the Council and stakeholders can meet the basic service needs of the community and other groups with special needs.

Environment and Waste Management

Our Environmental Information and Waste Management sections have a range of factsheets, photos and other educational resources to download. Our State of Environment reports are a good place to start if your project is about environmental issues in the Blue Mountains.

Also get access online to the library's GreenFILE (see library's Premium Sites).

In addition to information available on the About the Blue Mountains page, our librarians recommend the following sites:
