Blue Mountains Community Safety Precinct Committee

'Blue Mountains Communities are safe, caring and inclusive' Map for Action 2025.

The community endorsed Map for Action for a more sustainable Blue Mountains includes a focus on the creation of safe communities. A strategic aim of the Map for Action is to improve community safety in private and public spaces with a priority focus on improving community safety in town centres.

Blue Mountains City Council is currently working in partnership with the Police and other key organisations and community representatives to improve safety through participation in the Blue Mountains Community Safety Precinct Committee (CSPC) this is a committee of the NSW Police lead by the Superintendent of the Blue Mountains Local Area Command.

The purpose of the Blue Mountains CPSC is to provide a multi-faceted and co-ordinated approach to the development of community safety and crime prevention strategies to address the diverse community safety issues of the Blue Mountains, promoting co-operation between Police, Council, the community, government and non-government agencies.

Members include representatives from NSW Police, the Council, Health and Youth Services, the Aboriginal Community and State Members.

Current projects the Blue Mountains CSPC are working on include: 

  • Work with local Youth Service Providers and Police to address issues of Youth Crime in the Blue Mountains;
  • Work with local Police and the local Liquor Accords to review existing Alcohol Free Zones across the City;
  • Development of recently adopted Crime Prevention Plan (donwload a copy here)
