Composting and Worm Farming

Did you know that on average more than a quarter of the waste in our red garbage bins is food scraps? This means we’re sending hundreds of tonnes of food waste to landfill each week where it takes up space and generates carbon emissions and other environmental impacts which are expensive to manage.

By composting at home you can use these food scraps the way nature intended – by returning valuable nutrients to your garden AND greatly reducing waste to landfill.

In this section we outline a number of initiatives to help you get started composting at home.
