Blue Mountains City Council's Community Assistance Program 2017 - CLOSED

Blue Mountains City Council distributes funds under the Community Assistance Program. The Program recognises the contribution that community organisations make to the quality of life and well-being of the local community. The program assists community organisations to provide a diverse range of activities and services to local residents. Council’s contribution to these community organisations builds on and develops their capacity to provide local activities and services.

Applications for Council's annual Community Assistance Program are invited from non-profit locally based community organisations / groups within the Blue Mountains.

Donations are made to projects that directly benefit and address the priority needs of local residents. A copy of the previous year's guidelines are downloadable to the right of the page.

Blue Mountains ClubGRANTS 2017

Clubs that earn over $1 million annually in gaming machine revenue provide funding for community projects and services, and in turn receive dollar-for-dollar gaming tax deductions.

The scheme was introduced in 1998 by the NSW Government and allows clubs to claim a tax deduction of up to 1.85% on gaming machine revenue over $1 million for monies spent on community support.

In the Blue Mountains there are three eligible clubs:
• Panthers Glenbrook
• Springwood Sports Club
• Katoomba RSL Club

The Guide sets out the purpose of the ClubGRANTS scheme and provides general information on the various funding categories, who can apply, how to apply, and reporting requirements. The Guide also provides advice to applicants on how to write a strong ClubGRANTS application and best acknowledge club support. We encourage prospective applicants to read the Guide thoroughly before proceeding with an application.

Category 1 Funding
In 2017 there will not be a Local Committee administering Category 1 Funding. Applicants are advised to make applications to the Clubs directly by the cut-off date of 1 July 2017.

Projects in the following categories qualify for Category 1 funding:
• Community welfare and social services
• Community development
• Community health services
• Employment assistance activities

Category 2 Funding
Applications for Category 2 grants (including sporting, cultural and other activities) are administered directly by the clubs.

Category 3 Funding
Category 3 is a state-wide funding pool that supports the construction of large-scale community infrastructure projects such as hospitals and sporting facilities.
