Environmental Health

Environmental Health professionals oversee a range of actions that identify, prevent and remediate environmental related hazards and risks. Actions include:

  • Monitoring businesses for compliance with safe food practices; 
  • Water quality testing of public pools;
  • Issuing approvals for footpath dining / storage; 
  • Inspection of skin penetration premises; 
  • Approval and inspection of onsite sewage management systems;
  • Inspection of backyard swimming pools for compliance with safety barrier / fencing requirements;
  • Responding to environmental health issues raised by the community and other authorities.

A range of information has been designed to support residents and local businesses to identify and manage environmental health risks.
