The Standard Waste Service and booked waste service suits the needs of the vast majority of Blue Mountains households. However, we know there are some households that may require additional services to meet their individual needs. Because of that, we also offer the following additional services, on a user pays basis.

Extra and larger bins

  • Additional (240L) Organics (green) Bin
    Additional green bins are available to all households at a cost. To request an additional green bin, please complete the Bin Form. The annual cost for the additional bin is provided on the form. 
  • Additional (240L) or Larger (360L) Recycling (yellow) Bins 
    Additional recycle bins and larger recycling bins are available. These are collected fortnightly. To request an additional or larger recycling bin, please complete the Bin Form. The annual cost for the additional bin is provided on the form. 
  • Additional (140L) or Larger (240L) Waste (red) Bins
    Additional garbage bins and larger garbage bins are available. These are collected weekly. To request an additional or larger red garbage bin, please complete the Bin Form. The annual cost for the additional bin is provided on the form.

Please note: all requests for additional bins must be made by the property owner. Tenants cannot make these requests.

Other organic waste services

Additional Booked Service
You can book an additional booked waste collection of up to 4 cubic meters if you have already used your allocated 2 services per year to have bundled and tied green waste collected.

Two resource recovery facilities 
You can take green waste to either of our two Resource Recovery and Waste Management Facilities, located at Blaxland and Katoomba. There is a fee for this service.
