Council has welcomed six new Youth Councillors to the 2018 Youth Council – Gabriel Frechtling, Thomas Lenthen, Benjamin Mallin, Ruby Parsons Burns, Eleanor Shortis and Sinead Winn. 
Olive, Charlotte and Poppy with Adam Vance, who received Australian citizenship.

Thirty-seven Blue Mountains residents became Australian citizens on 28 July.  
Council has adopted the Open Space & Recreation Strategic Plan and supporting Play guidelines - a ten year plan for providing open space and sport and recreation facilities for the local community and visitors. Blue Mountains City Council has adopted the Open Space and Recreation Strategic Plan, and supporting Play Guidelines, which will guide how Council provides and manages open space and sport and recreation facilities and services over the next ten or more years for the local community and visitors.

A new seat has been installed at the bus stop on the corner of Blaxland Road and Darwin Ave, Wentworth Falls to improve the comfort of those residents using the local bus service.
