Stronger Families Alliance – Year in Review
More than 60 stakeholders, committed to making the Blue Mountains a child and youth friendly City, met recently for the Stronger Families Alliance (SFA) annual workshop.
The SFA is a network of government, community, and voluntary organisations that are working together to promote the resilience and wellbeing of children and young people living in the Blue Mountains.
Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill, said: “Council is proud to be resourcing the collaboration across agencies that supports our children, young people and families and contributes to the Blue Mountains being child and youth friendly.”
“The Alliance continues to build knowledge and make connections through community engagement and research.”
Participants at the workshop reviewed the Alliance’s activities during 2018-19 and helped identify priorities to explore for the year ahead.
The Alliance focuses on the following outcomes:
- Children start school ready to learn
- Parents are confident and engaged in their child’s development
- Young people are emotionally resilient, and
- Our community is child and youth friendly city.
