Customer Service Officer - Waste Management Facilities (casual) - V19/4559

You will be required to: 

•    Operate computerised weighbridge.
•    Issue receipts and invoices and handle monies and associated reconciliations.
•    Explain Council's policies relevant to the position and endeavour to minimise conflict with customers.
•    Direct traffic to appropriate areas of the Waste Management Facilities dependent on load type.
•    Report all accidents/incidents and maintain an incident register.
•    Maintain logs of contractor attendance at Waste Management Facilities.
•    Advise the Team Leader of operational difficulties at the Waste Management Facilities.

You will have:

Council is seeking a self-motivated person with great attention to detail and proven administrative skills to progress our policy and compliance programs. 

In this role, you will actively support the preparation and implementation of draft policies through comprehensive research and analysis. The role requires an ability to positively consult with internal and external stakeholders, and requires strong administrative skills with a focus on process improvement. 

This role delivers process and administrative oversight to governance frameworks, including policy review, delegations, compliance and legal management. The role directly supports business improvement initiatives in relation to policy and compliance management. 

It is anticipated that the applicant would hold a degree level education, and be experienced in high level administration and applying policy and processes, as well as, demonstrated experience in high level processes development, customer service, research, communication and writing.

Blue Mountains City Council is seeking a highly motivated person to undertake information access and related governance duties. This will involve managing requests and applications for Council-held information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and assisting with other relevant compliance and administrative processes. 

The successful applicant will have experience in customer service and complaint handling, advanced skills in negotiation and dispute resolution, and the ability to deal with complex and contentious matters. They will also have research and analytical skills, including demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation. Strong time management skills are essential, as are written communication skills and the ability to prepare correspondence and reports. 

This is a permanent part time position, equating to 28 hours per week. Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (28 hours per week).
