These days if you aren't online you simply don't exist to most customers.  All businesses need a strong online presence to be found by visitors.

With visitors using up to 22 travel related websites to plan their trips, it is no longer enough for a tourism business just to have their own website. What else do you need to do to be found online by your potential customers?

That’s what we’ll cover in this practical 2 hour workshop. You’ll learn about:

  • How travellers use the internet. From dreaming, to planning and booking and when they are actually travelling, the internet plays an important role at each stage. By understanding how your customers are using the internet, you can make sure you on the right platforms to be found.
  • Websites - what makes a good one? It should be the hub of your online marketing, working hard for you 24/7, but all websites are not created equal. Review your website to make sure it is user friendly, fresh, mobile responsive and most importantly designed to convert visitors into bookers.
  • Online listing – where should you be? Get Connected, Google+, Local Directories, TripAdvisor, the list goes on. Find out where and why you need to be listed and the importance of up to date and consistent listings. With a focus on increasing Get Connected listings, operators will create or update their Get Connected listing during the workshop.

The workshop will be conducted by Naomi Farrelly, who is a tourism marketing professional with 19 years experience working across local, state and national tourism organisations and with Australian tourism products and destination brands.

Her experience gives her  a unique understanding of both big picture tourism strategy and the day to day challenges of tourism businesses. She has a knack for analysing information and presenting it in a simple, usable way.
