Social distancing

Council is observing social distancing. Social distancing reduces the risk of catching viruses like COVID-19. Please be respectful of social distancing while in public facilities. NSW Health guidelines state the following:

  • Keep a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and other people
  • Avoid shaking hands and hugging
  • Use debit and credit cards instead of cash and make use of online and self-serve transactions
  • Avoid crowds (where it is difficult to keep appropriate distance away from others) and avoid small gatherings in enclosed spaces.

Limits on social gathering

Indoor gatherings of more than 100 people are banned, excluding schools, universities, airports, public transport, medical and emergency services facilities, aged care homes, jails, courts, parliaments, supermarkets and many workplaces.

Cleaning and sanitisation

We are increasing sanitisation at our facilities. By diverting staff from closed facilities to those that remain open we will be able to increase the frequency of cleaning.
Pools are being chlorinated daily.

Personal hygiene

The best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 is to:

  • Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitiser for at least 20 seconds and wash all parts of your hands including finger tips.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze with your elbow.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.
  • Stay home if you are sick.

Food safety

Transmission through food is unlikely and no evidence that COVID-19 is spread in this way.
