Citizenship ceremonies

We host citizenship ceremonies approximately every three months which are presided over by the Mayor of the Blue Mountains.

Once a candidate is approved for Australian Citizenship, the Department of Home Affairs will send a letter to advise the candidate when they will be allocated to a ceremony.

All candidate application information and allocation to ceremony dates is managed by the Department of Home Affairs.

If you are invited to a ceremony and are unable to attend, you will be reallocated to another ceremony date by the Department of Home Affairs.

All enquiries regarding Australian Citizenship are referred to The Department of Home Affairs on 131 880.

2020 Ceremony dates

  • Further dates for 2020 will be advised. Ceremonies are currently on hold until COVID-19 restrictions around public gatherings have changed. 

2021 Ceremony dates

  • Tuesday 26 January, Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub, Springwood

White Ribbon Day

White Ribbon Day is Australia’s national day for raising awareness of men’s violence against women and how to prevent it. 

We mark it with a Mayoral Breakfast event each year.
