We strive to ensure that children, parents, carers and grandparents can fully participate in community and economic life in the Blue Mountains.  We also help community agencies to collaborate and deliver services to especially vulnerable families. Council leads the ‘Stronger Families Alliance’ to achieve this. See the Stronger Families Alliance link below for further information.

Council’s Family Day Care is an entry point to childhood support and early education. The award-winning service cares for children of working parents, and helps families to extend their social support networks. See the Blue Mountains Family Day Care link for more information.

Our Community Development team includes a specialist Community Development Officer - Children and Families, who is supported by a Social Researcher, a Program Leader and other team-members. The team works with staff across Council, community organisations and other levels of government for the benefit of children and families.
