The Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust was created to build on the City’s reputation of being the State’s inaugural City of the Arts. The Blue Mountains City Council is the Trustee and each year Council contributes $50,000 to the Trust to administer a grants program. The Trust Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the Blue Mountains City Council to support selected arts projects in the visual, performing and literary arts for the benefit of Blue Mountains residents.

The Trust can also receive donations to support arts and cultural activity within the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust Fund is registered as a charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC). It has Tax Deductible Gift Recipient status.
