Friday 3 December is International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD).

Unfortunately, the IDPWD book launch with local author, Tish Peiris, scheduled for 6 December has been cancelled.

We will be rescheduling the book launch to happen in February, and will update this page as more information becomes available.

About the book

The Saddest Girl tells the story of a girl called Daisy, who struggles with her mum’s brain injury.

Tish was a former journalist from Sri Lanka when she had an accident that resulted in an acquired brain injury. The Saddest Girl is a retelling of Tish’s own story and experiences.

What is IDPWD?

IDPWD is a global United Nations event that celebrates the achievements and contributions of people with disability, and how this enriches our community and culture.

It also aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability, break down the physical, technical and attitudinal barriers people with disability face, and celebrate abilities of all kinds.
