Blue Mountains Sports Council

"A better sporting future"

10 December 2003 was a historic day for the Blue Mountains with the creation of the Blue Mountains Sports Council. Its creation was the result of a key finding from the Blue Mountains Recreation and Sports Strategy 2002 in which sporting clubs felt that better communication was needed between sporting clubs and Council.

The Blue Mountains Sports Council is based on many other Sports Councils and similar Advisory Committees operating across NSW in partnership with local authorities. Representatives for the Sports Council were nominated by each major sporting code - thirteen representatives in all.

Sporting Clubs are encouraged to contact their sporting code representative if they have any sports related issues so they can be tabled at future Sports Council meetings.
