Resourcing Strategy - Long Term Plans for Finance, Assets, Workforce
The Community Strategic Plan provides a vehicle for expressing long-term community aspirations. However, these will not be achieved without sufficient resources - time, money, assets and people - to actually carry them out. In line with Integrated Planning and Reporting reforms, the Council has developed a long term Resourcing Strategy consisting of five key components:
- Long Term Financial Plan
- Workforce Management Strategy
- Asset Management Strategy and Policy
- Overarching Asset Management Plan
- Service Planning
Long Term Financial Plan
The Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) presents the financial objectives and performance targets and strategies that the Council is proposing to meet the significant financial challenges facing it over 2010-2020.
Workforce Management Strategy
The Council completed its latest Human Resource Strategy in 2008. This award-winning strategy focused on retaining staff, developing leaders, skilling managers, positioning Council as an employer of choice and identifying future business directions and workforce needs. The 2008 Strategy, which has been reviewed and renamed the Workforce Management Strategy, is now aligned with the NSW State Government integrated planning and reporting reform requirements for local government.
Asset Management Strategy and Policy
The Asset Management Strategy and Policy identifies all built assets under Councils ownership and outlines key areas of current funding gaps.
Overarching Asset Management Plan
The Overarching Asset Management Plan outlines community priorities for services and assets and identifies assets, key actions, risks, and funding gaps by Council Service.
Service Planning
Service Planning presents the Council services and service aims in the context of delivering the community strategic plan - Sustainable Blue Mountains 2025.
