Work Experience Program

Council is able to offer varied Work Experience programs for eligible students within many of it's Branches.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered eligible you must:

  • Be a current secondary school or tertiary student
  • Be required to complete relevant nominal hours of practical experience as part of your course
  • Have a specific work area in mind
  • Have a specific date period
  • Be provided with insurance coverage by your educational institution for the duration of your work experience at Council

How to Apply

If you are an eligible student and wish to apply for a period of work experience, please download a Work Experience Application Pack, at right.

Complete the required details, ensuring that you have specified an area and date period for the work experience.

Please note: all applications for work experience are to be initiated through Human Resources. The student should not contact a work area or Supervisor directly.

Email Your Application

It is preferred that the completed application pack is returned via email at hresources@bmcc.nsw.gov.au - clearly label the email subject with "Work Experience Application".

The earlier you are able to return this completed pack; the more likely we will be able to assist with your request for Work Experience.

Upon return of the completed package, the Recruitment Officer will ensure student eligibility, and then assist in finding a suitable work area for the specified time period. You will then be notified of the outcome.

If you are unable to access to a computer, hard copy applications may sent to the Recruitment Officer via:
