A dictionary designed specifically for solving crossword puzzles. In addition to a simple dictionary lookup, the system accepts crossword clues and answer patterns and also includes help for anagrams and cryptograms.
- Double Tounged
The official dictionary of unofficial English. The Double-Tongued Dictionary records undocumented or under-documented words from the fringes of English, with a focus on slang, jargon, and new words.

The publishers have put the contents of the Information Please Almanacs, their own biography database, "a leading dictionary," and the Columbia Encyclopedia online. You can search these ready reference works together or separately or browse the Almanacs.

The creators of the wonderful Information Please Almanac have introduced a version of this resource just for kids. It has an easy interface, and includes an on-line dictionary, encyclopedia, a homework centre, "today in history," and a word of the day.
