Loans
Collections available for loan include adult, youth and children's novels, picture books and information books as well as comics, magazines, videos, DVDs, music CDs and CD-ROMS. Large print books and talking books are available for the visually impaired.
There is a separate Toy Library membership with access to a collection of toys for loan. An annual membership fee applies for the Toy Library. For parents attending the Babytime sessions there is a Babytime Club which gives parents the opportunity to borrow the resources used during Babytime. An annual fee applies for the Babytime Club.
You can use the online catalogue at anytime to search for specific titles, authors or subjects.
A maximum of twenty (20) items may be borrowed. Most loans are for up to three (3) weeks, however DVDs and comics are available for 7 day loans only
Members may borrow and return most items to any branch library.
New loans cannot be made while there are overdue items. Should you incur overdue fines you will need to pay your fines and return the overdue items before new items can be loaned.
Lost or damaged items are charged to the borrower at the full replacement cost plus a processing fee.
Items can be borrowed from libraries outside the Blue Mountains area for a fee as an Inter-Library Loan.

Requests
Requests allow you to have an item that is at another branch sent to your nearest branch for collection, or to place yourself on the waiting list for an item that is currently on loan.
Most items available for loan may be reserved for collection at your nominated branch. Notification is sent by mail or email when the reserved item is available.
Requests can be placed anytime via the online catalogue.
Renewals
Most items that are not overdue or reserved for another borrower may be renewed twice.
Renewals can be requested in person at a branch, or by phone during open hours, or at anytime via the online catalogue.
Renewals should be requested before the item becomes overdue.
