How Can I Help?

Volunteers

Blue Mountains City Library is a member of the Centre for Volunteering. The Centre for Volunteering is the peak body in NSW promoting and supporting volunteering and community participation. Donations

The Blue Mountains City Library accepts book, magazine, CD and DVD donations for the general library collection in accordance with our Collection Development Policy (download at right). Items must be in excellent condition and fall within needed subject categories, as determined by the Library Staff. The library retains unconditional ownership of the items and makes the final decision on the use, display or other disposal of the donated item. Donated items which are not added to the collection will usually be sold in one of our used book sales with proceeds going towards the purchase of new materials.

We are always eager to add appropriate material to the Library’s Local Studies collections. This includes (but is not limited to) books about the Blue Mountains or Blue Mountains personalities; photographs or film relating to the mountains; papers of any mountains-related business, organization, or person; maps, brochures, postcards and other ephemera to do with the mountains. If you are uncertain, please contact our local studies librarian.
