What is a Noxious Weed?

A Noxious Weed is a plant species that has been declared by the NSW Department of Industry and Investment (formerly Department of Primary Industries) as a plant that can threaten crops, humans or livestock by contact or when ingested. They are plants that are fast growing which multiply quickly due to fact that they are prolific seeders and are a threat to natural bushland, the urban landscape and agricultural areas. It's prohibited to grow, sell or propagate noxious weed species.
