BIKE TO SCHOOL IN THE MOUNTAINS
Blue Mountains students, parents and school staff are being encouraged to get active and ride their bikes to and from school as part of a new program being run by Blue Mountains City Council.
The Bike To School Program involves the provision of bicycle safety and skills training to primary school children in the Blue Mountains LGA. The program is ongoing with several schools taking part each year since it was run as a pilot project in November and December 2006.
The Bike To School Program runs with the support of local communities, school, students and caregivers. It provides the opportunity for children to be more physically active through safe cycling as a means of recreation and transport.
