Hot-spot Removal Project
BMCC has been successful in receiving funding of $130,300.50 from the Department of Justice and Attorney General (DJAG) for the NSW Government Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Graffiti Hotspot Program.
- Four sites within the LGA have been selected, based upon the cost to remove graffiti and repair the property. At each of these sites, the property has glass surfaces that have been or are at risk of substantial etching. This type of graffiti vandalism involves scratching into the surface with a sharpened tool or similar object and is best repaired by full replacement of the glass.
- The Graffiti Hot-Spot Removal Project will enable BMCC repair the damaged glass. An anti-graffiti coating will be applied to glass surfaces, to protect from future attacks.
- Some sites may be enhanced with site-specific landscaping or other actions, that promote the highest level of protection for the site and optimal safety for the Community.
