Dividing Fences
A dividing fence is a fence that separates the lands of adjoining owners.
Information on issues associated with Dividing Fences can be found at the Department of Lands website. Council is not involved in settling disputes regarding dividing fences, however the Department of Lands website provides some options for customers to consider.
In many instances a Development Application may be required for the installation of a dividing fence. Please refer to Section 2 of Council's Development Control Plan No 33 - Exempt and Complying Development, to determine whether your fence is exempt from the need to obtain development consent.
