An occupation certificate is a certificate that enables an owner or occupier to legally occupy or use a building or part. The owner or person able to appoint the Principal Certifying Authority may apply for a Final Occupation Certificate, and will be subject to a satisfactory final inspection and receipt of the form, which may be downloaded at right. - Interim Occupation Certificate (Interim Occupation Certificate Application)
An Interim Occupation Certificate is a certificate issued by the PCA that enables the owner or occupier of a building to occupy a partially completed building or part. In order to issue an interim occupation certificate, the PCA must be satisfied that the building or part is suitable for occupation or use in accordance with its classification under the Building Code of Australia, and that any conditions of consent requiring certain matters to be satisfied prior to issue of the certificate have been duly complied with. Receipt of the application and payment of the fee is required prior to the inspection for the interim occupation certificate. The current fee for 2011-2012 is:-
