2007 Community Survey
The 2007 Community Survey, conducted via telephone, details residents' views and opinions on 48 service areas of Council, staff and Councillor performance.
Overall, the results indicate that Council is providing many of the services and facilities rated as important by residents at a satisfactory level or above.
It is important for the Council to know and understand how residents perceive Council service delivery and performance. Assessment of resident satisfaction and importance ratings enables the Council to identify priorities for improvement and to benchmark performance over time.
The 2007 Community Survey Results are playing a key role in the organisational business planning process. Council will be setting community satisfaction targets to drive service improvements for the community, using data from the 2007 Community Survey. Resource allocation for the 2008-2009 Management Plan and Budget has also taken into consideration the results of the 2007 Community Survey.
As well as presenting the results of community perceptions of Council performance, the 2007 Community Survey Report also presents results on community values, sustainability actions by residents and perceptions of community safety and connectedness.
